I cannot stress enough that having kids narrate back to you what they have learned is a valuable learning tool!  Go to the library and check out a book about giraffes and have then tell you what they learned.  If this is new to you, read a page, then ask them to tell you what they heard.

Math: - counting to 20.  We are going to going by 5's now.  But if I feel that he is not ready, we will back up.

Here is a list of sight words by grade level.  We will be going through these about 4-5 a week.  We will be doing rainbow writing, play dough mats, tracing, etc.
